Baitun Nur
Canada's largest Baitun Nur mosque complex is a 48,000 sq.ft built by the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in East Calgary. This unique landmark is one of the largest in North America and the largest in Calgary. It has become a gathering place for all cultures and religions. It is open for public worship and prayer. There are more than 1,600 worshippers congregate during Fridays and they celebrate two annual festivals.
The Ahmadiyyas follow the teachings of Muhammad, Jesus, Confucius, Buddha and Abraham. They offer multilingual programs and tours, private bookings and meetings that could cater up to 500 people in the adjoining community centre with a dining hall and full service kitchen on-site. It also features a multi-purpose gym available to groups, library, and a bookstore.
