Beltline residents will find their community situated conveniently between 10th Avenue in the southwest (to the north) and the busy and bustling 17th Avenue southwest to the south, and finally the borders on the east of the community being Stampede Park. This area is undeniably considered to be the heart of the city and for it's size is incredibly populated, entirely due to the large amount of low rise, and high rise condominiums throughout. The beltline was first established in 1905, it was first named Connaught and is still to this day often referred to this as it was only recent that the area took on the Beltline community name. There are over 20,000 residents who live in this area, and over 13,000 homes in the community, with 98% of them being condominiums. The median income for households is just over $75,000 - The Average condominium sale price is typically between $330,000 and $350,000 and depending on inventory the average price for listings will usually hover around $425,000 You'll find everything from first floor one bedroom units that are situated in low rise apartments, to million dollar luxury condominiums. In 2018 the average sale price in this community was just under $340,000, there were over 400 condominiums that sold, of which they typically were on the market for just under 60 days, and this community saw a total of 10 townhouses that were sold as well at an average price of just under $340,000.
There are a number of bus routes within the area that will allow you to get anywhere you want within the city, this community is ideal for buyers and home owners who enjoy walking and bicycling, and if needed there are plenty of ride share options include Car2Go spread throughout giving you plenty of transportation options allowing owners to live a car free lifestyle. This community does have a neighborhood association which recently announced a new hub within the community, this will be located at the historic McHugh House on Centre Street and 17th Ave southwest, a 120+ year old building! Crime in the city of Calgary is relatively low, however being in the downtown area, it's recommended that residents take precautions during late hours. Break ins for homes is quite uncommon as most buildings are secured, but you will sometimes find petty theft in underground parking garages.
Beltline Schools and Information
This area is served by several different schools within the area, this includes St. Mary's which is located on the east end of the area, where you'll also find Rundle College. In the core of the community you'll find Western Canadian High school, and you'll also find the MRU downtown campus being within sthort walking distance. The very first public library in the city of Calgary can also be found within, right on 11th Avenue. The connaught school (public) saw major renovations back in 2007.

An area located in the central part of Calgary, the beltline is incredibly close to the south of Downtown. This community was first named after the older 20th century street car. Back in 2003, some of the districts in the Beltline saw redevelopment further adding value to this area.
