Alvin's Jazz Club in Westman Village

Often home owners in south east communities like Cranston or Auburn Bay think that a unique dining experience with live music means a long trek to Stephen Ave, 17th, or to trendy communities like Inglewood. Fortunately the recent development in Mahogany (and Seton as well) have seen a major increase in commercial retail space and development in recent years for south east Calgary. 

After hearing many great reviews from friends around the city, we booked a reservation for this new trendy spot (Alvin's Jazz Club) located in Westman Village, which is located inside the Journey Club at 176 Mahogany Centre SE.

The service, live music, and atmosphere here is top notch - From our server who was incredibly informative, nice, and accommodating throughout our entire dining experience, to the live music played throughout our meal, Alvin's provides patrons with a unique dining atmosphere unlike anything else in the city. 

The food was fantastic, we sampled everything from the fresh prawns to the oysters (delicious) to the brioche on the appetizer menu. The salads were fresh and flavourful. Our entree's featured a couple of wellingtons, the Halibut, and ravioli were some of the choices and everyone loved their meal! The only thing brought back home was a last minute order of the amazing brioche appetizer. 

We don't want to spoil anything on the food side, but everything here is fine dining! The Wellington is one of their signature dishes and it does not disappoint. 

Booking your reservation early is recommended, this new perfect date night spot is bound to stay busy, and will continue to serve so many Calgarian's in the Southeast. It's the perfect opportunity for a delightful date night without having to make a big trip into downtown, and with a great drink menu, leaving your car, and catching an Uber or Driving Service to get home safely is a lot more affordable and easy the next morning. Currently their hours are Tues-Thurs 4pm to 12am | Fri-Sat 4pm to 1am | Sunday (brunch) 10am to 3pm.
