Local Calgary Non Profit
Origin: May 1976 Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary Association for Senior Citizens was established and registered as a non-profit entity in Alberta. While in 2015, the non profit Updated their name and logo to "Bishop O’Byrne Housing Association" Now, newly renamed in the summer of 2020, "Forward Housing"
This non profit organization grew, and was founded upon the incredibly hard working and dedicated, Roman Catholic community in Calgary that was setup to support the low income senior population around 40 years ago. In 2013, Forward Housing opened a new residence in Bridgeland called Columbus Place, and since then their spectrum of affordable housing solutions has truly grown with a highly anticipated opening of a new development in 2021 that will bring over 100 new units to the affordable housing inventory in Calgary.
Pay It Forward YYC
Forward Housing is a charitable affordable housing provider dedicated to solving the affordable housing crisis in Calgary. They currently own two properties in the inner city community of Bridgeland, these buildings provides Calgarian's in need with affordable homes, this includes housing for lower income families, seniors, and individuals. Presently Forward housing supports over 600 residents in Calgary.
Forward Housing has launched a new initiative and has partnered with us along with some of Calgary's other top businesses in the real estate and housing industry to help PAY IT FORWARD!

If you are a real estate industry professional, we invite you to take part in our industry challenge in three easy steps:
- Make a pledge via your social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, etc)
- Use the #PayitForwardYYC & tag the @FWDHousing account
- Challenge one or as many colleagues as you can to match your pledge
Pro tip: Setup your own pledge amount by tying it to a success metric in your real estate business. This could be $100 for every deal you do, or $20 for every home you list, mortgage brokers $50 for every mortgage you write, between now and the end of the year!

- The Forward Housing Association is Calgary-based, and is a registered charity with over 40+ years of history in helping local Calgarians.
- Affordable Housing provides families a gift that is often hard to attain. Stability, and preventing entry or re-entry into homelessness
- They provide and operate over 600 housing units across the city of Calgary and have a direct ties and insight to families who need support immediately and throughout the year.
