While Rogers Place is largely focused around the arena itself, Scotia Place is being integrated into a much broader Culture + Entertainment District, complete with public spaces, community programming, and long-term livability.   • Design Phase: Locked in by a partnership between the City, Province, Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corp, and Calgary Stampede.

  • Site Prep: Began in 2024, including moving 5 Street S.E. and adding 5A Street S.E.

  • Excavation & Foundation: Completed in mid-2025. Vertical construction began shortly after.

  • Progress Milestones:

    • July 2025: One-year construction anniversary.

    • August 2025: Major momentum as vertical structure rises.

    • November 2025: Structural form begins to take shape.

  • Opening Date: Targeted for Fall 2027.

Behind the Build 

  • Construction Workforce: Over 200 people on site daily.

  • Concrete Volume: 41,000+ cubic metres — enough to fill 20 NHL-sized arenas.

  • Steel Rebar: Over 39,000 metric tonnes, stretching a quarter of the way around Earth.
