1. Pathways & Bikeways - Find your way around the city on foot or by bike with this great app from the city of Calgary.

Built to provide Calgarians with a convenient way to navigate the pathway and on-street bikeway system.

2. Find cheap gas near you! 

This crowd powered app allows you to quickly find cheap gas nearby! With a press of a button, you can find gas nearby with up to date prices, you'll have the ability to help out fellow deal seekers by inputting current gas prices as you visit locations!

3. KIJIJI - Buy / Sell / Trade your goods - Canada's largest classifieds site

Calgary's most popular platform to buy and sell goods from consumer to consumer, from getting rid of an old couch, to buying a new car, Kijiji is wildly popular and very well known, but the app makes the experience all the better, with instant messaging, posting from your mobile device, it makes listing items a breeze!

4. Recycling and Garbage Day!

Don't miss your next pick up day, the city of Calgary has put together this sleek little app to help ensure you never miss a beat with your garbage, recycling, and compost collection. You'll also have the ability to receive weekly reminders to roll out your carts and if you're ever unsure of where something belongs, you can use the app to find tips and advice on how to sort your disposals. 

5. Your city on the go! 

The city of Calgary has put together another useful app for Calgarians, with the 311 mobile application, you'll be able to track and report city services right from your smart phone, from reporting graffiti, to road issues, you'll be able to utilize location based technology combined with your camera to make reporting quick and easy!

7. Northern Lights Alerts!

Did you know that the northern lights can be seen from our city? A ten minute trip outside of town will yield even better results, but when conditions are right, you'll have the opportunity to see the lights dance above your home, the city, or the mountains, timing is key though and these apps are essential to making it happen! With custom alerts and notifications, you'll never miss another good aurora show!

8. Getting out of the city on a hike!

Looking to escape the city and hit the hiking trails? All Trails has you covered! Detailed maps, reviews, photos and more, this app is as almost important as your trusty water bottle! Utilize filters to pin point exactly what you want with different trails, from hiking to running, biking, and dog / kid friendly routes, big views or challenges, you'll find everything you need and most importantly, once you've found your route, you can track your pace, the elevation gained, distance traveled, allowing you to share your adventures with friends and family at home.

9. Alberta Health Services 

 The Alberta Health Services mobile app allows you to quickly stay in the loop with major hospitals nearby. This includes finding resources for personal care, healthcare locations, influenza locations, and even includes real time wait times for emergency departments throughout major cities in Alberta including Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Red Deer, and Medicine Hat.
