East Village Community Information
Known as The East Village it is in the eastern portion of Downtown Calgary and is enveloped within the city’s River District having the earliest - settled land which sits in Fort Calgary. The community is a mixture of both residential and industrial establishments. In 1980, Light Rail Transit blue line was constructed in the East Village from Downtown. In 2007, the formation of Calgary Municipal Land Corporation which has been revitalizing the community was finally approved.
