Its limits are Shaganappi Trail to the east, 32nd Avenue and Market Mall to the north, and the Bow River to the south and west. Shortly beyond the river to the west is Bowness community. Montgomery was renamed to in 1943 after Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, a well-known British military leader during World War I and II.
