Established in 1950 and regarded as one of Calgary's older communities, Richmond is a suburban neighbourhood in the south-west of Calgary. It is settled on both sides of the Crowchild Trail, south of 17th Avenue SW. Alberta Children's Hospital can be found in the community until 2007 when the new facility opened in the north-west quadrant.
