The community of Citadel is located in Northwest Calgary, Alberta.
Beginning in the early 1990s, Citadel real estate saw explosive growth in its early days, but it remains a relatively small community in the greater Calgary, Alberta area, currently home to slightly more than 10,000 residents.
The homes for sale in this picturesque community offer stunning views of both the Rocky Mountains and Calgary’s downtown core. Citadel,Calgary is bordered by the Stoney Trail highway to the North, Country Hills Boulevard to the South and Sarcee Trail to the East.
The community of Citadel, Calgary was planned along a circular design and focused on single-family homes and townhouses. This beautifully maintained neighbourhood is home to many amenities, including a variety of pathways, playgrounds, recreational spaces and parks, including Citadel Park and Citadel Way Park. Citadel, Calgary residents also have a variety of sporting options at their disposal thanks to the nearby Hamptons golf course, the Crowfoot Arena, and the Crowfoot YMCA.
Citadel real estate listings are well served when it comes to shopping options, as the community is only a stone’s throw away from the Beacon Hill shopping district, where people can find a variety of major retailers and restaurants. Also, Crowfoot Crossing, one of the largest shopping centers in the province with over 350 stores, is only a couple of kilometers to the south.

Citadel, Calgary is home to an abundance of both private and public schools. For families with young children, the Citadel Park K-4, and the Arbour Lake 4-6 public schools have their education covered from kindergarten through to sixth grade. For families that prefer a religious focus, the St. Brigid Catholic school serves students from kindergarten through ninth grade.
For the parents of younger children, there are several preschools in Citadel, including the recently built Foothills Alliance Preschool & Kindergarten and the Citadel Community Preschool.
Weekend adventures and day trips are easily accessible for the owners of Citadel real estate, as the Stoney Trail allows easy access to the Trans Canada highway with the Rocky Mountains only a short drive away. Skiing, snowboarding, hiking and all sorts of outdoor adventures await!

There are three different areas within the northwest Calgary community of Citadel, Calgary - Morningside, Citadel and West Citadel - each with a different selection of types of homes for sale.
In the Morningside area of Citadel, the upscale properties feature large lots and elegantly finished exteriors. In Citadel proper, there is a wide variety of bungalows, bi-level splits and two-storey splits, many of which have attached garages.
