WTLC is focused on identifying and creating the conditions for success for students as unique learners and as members of their school and home communities. WTLC is a trauma-sensitive learning environment. Classroom staff includes one CBE teacher and one of Wood's school support counselor. The student to staff ratio is 8:2. Wood's Homes provides additional clinical services including a full-time therapist and a full-time family support worker, while the CBE provides a .6 educational psychologist. Families are also able to access additional therapeutic services offered through Wood's Homes. A hot breakfast is offered to the students. For a nominal fee, hot lunch is also provided. If deemed appropriate, CBE transportation may be provided.

George Wood Learning Centre
The George Wood Learning Centre has 9 unique instructional spaces: four traditional classrooms all equipped with laptops and a Smartboard, one food science area, a gymnasium, a literacy resource center, a therapeutic room, and a woodshop.
The Calgary Board of Education partners with Wood's Homes. Wood's Homes offers a number of residential and non-residential programs at different sites throughout the city. Residential programs provide long-term intensive clinical treatment and academic programs to young people aged 12 to 18 who have severe psychological, social and family difficulties.
Shorter-term and non-residential programs are also available that respond to youth experiencing severe emotional, psychiatric and other difficulties. Treatment is provided for six months to one-and-a-half years. The George Wood Learning Centre provides educational and therapeutic opportunities for the students residing on Bowness Campus.
