Hillhurst Community Information
Established 1914, Hillhurst is a north-west neighbourhood settled within the inner city of Calgary. Also known as Kensington. Voted as the 14th best neighbourhood in Calgary in 2010. The community's boundaries include 8th Avenue N and 16th Avenue N to the north, 10th Street W to the east, the Bow River to the south and both 14th Street W and 18th Street W to the west. Hillhurst is linked to the downtown hub by the Mewata Bridge.

Hill Hurst is bordered to the south by the Bow River and Poppy Plaza, a gorgeous green illuminated memorial park. Park features include benches, walkways, trees, weathering steel walls, wood decking, and river overlooks.
Riley Park is on the north side of the community, a beautiful park within walking distance of the Kensington shopping district. There are plenty of beautiful park amenities to be enjoyed, like wading pools, spray parks, outdoor pools, a cricket pitch, and a memorial rock garden. Other park features include picnic tables, a playground, washrooms, and fountains.
Within a short drive, residents can head to Confederation Park, Nose Hill Park, or even Prince’s Island Park which is situated just across the river.
