Inglewood, one of Calgary's most well known communities in the city, partially because it's the oldest in all of Calgary! The community was first established back in the late 1800's when Fort Calgary was first built, and was designed and planned by some famous Albertan's who's names you might just recognize, including James Macleod (Macleod Trail named after him). The man responsible for naming Inglewood is Colonel James Walker, who had a homestead named Inglewood. This community was originally known as the Brewery Flats or as East Calgary. The Demographics of this community has slightly over 3,600 residents throughout (and counting) with the continuous increase in density as new developments are being constructed. According to the previous census from the city of Calgary in 2011, Inglewood had an average of 2.5 persons per household, with a median age of 38, and had 925 individuals living alone, with 77% of the population being between the ages of 20-64.
There are a number of unique influences for residents in this community, on the commercial side you'll find a wonderful selection of unique boutique shops and restaurants, complimented by the incredible relaxing river side walkways.
