Finding the right neighbourhood to move to requires a lot of thought other than just about the house or apartment. Homebuyers need to look at the cities in Calgary and think long-term. What will your needs be in five years?

There are the usual amenities one considers, such as proximity to green spaces and essential services. If you're planning on having children (or have younglings already), you need to ensure you have access to services for them as well, like daycares and post-secondary options.

There are multiple cities in Alberta that will appeal to your tastes and needs, including Calgary. If you decide that it’s time to start exploring the available Calgary houses for sale, you should note that it's divided into quadrants:

By using your preferences and factoring in your current and potential needs, Real Estate Partners will help you find the best place to live in Calgary.

NW Quadrant

Most residents agree that this is an exceptional place to live because of the closer proximity the Northwest quadrant has to the Rockies. However, it also provides an assortment of cafes, pubs, bistros, boutiques, as well as arts and crafts shops.

This quadrant of Calgary has better access to the C-train compared to the SW quadrant. Staff and students who attend the University of Calgary can use the Red Line and take advantage of all of downtown's services.

Arbour Lake

Arbour Lake has residential homes in a quiet, but energetic atmosphere that's perfect for frequent weekend get-togethers. The average price for this area's homes is $409,191.

Arbour Lake is the best place to live if you're an avid adventurer and plan to head out to the Rockies on a regular basis. It also provides homebuyers with the opportunity to enjoy lakeside living as it's the only one of Calgary neighbourhoods to have a lake. The community is an active one, providing residents with many recreational activities year-round, from skating to fishing to canoeing on the 10-acre lake.

Crowfoot Crossing is the community's major shopping mall that offers everything under the sun, including a Light Rail Transit station. Residents can use it to go downtown in just under an hour's ride.

Crescent Heights - (Spans Both the NE and NW Quadrants)

As one of the inner city neighbourhoods in Calgary, Crescent Heights gives residents easy access to amenities. It's so close to downtown; shopping, entertainment, and dining venues are within walking distance or a 15-minute bus ride across the Bow River. As a result, this area draws in a younger homebuying crowd.

Homebuyers can purchase land lots in addition to houses and apartments in Crescent Heights. The average price in this area is $599,470. It has a variety of small homes, larger remodelled houses, apartments, and estates. As you browse Calgary homes for sale, you'll notice an "Old Money" quality about the area.

SW Quadrant

This quadrant offers easy access to downtown, Calgary by way of the C-Train's Blue Line. Residents enjoy the convenience of the Beltline, a place with boutiques, Korean restaurants, and popular nightlife destinations.

It's also where many colleges and universities are located, including Ambrose University and one of the campuses of the University of Calgary.

Upper & Lower Mount Royal

The average price of this neighbourhood's luxurious homes is $2,091,630.

Upper Mount Royal is one of several wealthy neighbourhoods in Calgary. It has many green spaces with Earl Grey Park and Cartier Park being the larger options for picnics and Sunday stolls.

This community is considered one of the best neighbourhoods because it has elegant houses in a suburban atmosphere not too far from the Beltline, which is the go-to place for all essential services.

Lower Mount Royal is a small area close to the hustle and bustle of the Beltline. It mostly offers rental opportunities as part of Calgary's recent developments, which include many multi-family dwellings, apartments, and condos. This community is considered as part of the inner city, which means everything is easy to get to on foot.

Signal Hill

This community has houses with some townhomes and apartments. The average asking price is $521,617.

Residents can find all of their essential services at the Signal Hill Centre Shopping Plaza. If they need to head downtown, it's a 45-minute bus ride or 20-minute drive. The area is bordered by two highways: the Glenmore Trail SW and the Sarcee Trail SW.

Among Calgary neighbourhoods, this one is farther out, so it has a quieter atmosphere that allows residents some peace and quiet after a hard day or on a morning walk. Among the area's many green spaces is Battalion Park, which acts as a WWI memorial.
