August 2026 Calgary Real Estate Statistics Recap

Calgary’s housing market continued to slow in August, with 1,660 sales recorded across the city, down 16% compared to last year. New listings also declined, falling nearly 10% year-over-year to 3,141 units. While overall activity has softened, higher-priced homes have continued to see stronger demand, with properties priced above $1 million recording sales gains. Detached and semi-detached homes accounted for much of this activity.

Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms in Calgary: Placement, Testing and Replacement

Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms do different jobs, but both serve the same purpose: giving you enough warning to get everyone out safely.

A smoke alarm detects smoke from a fire. A carbon monoxide alarm detects a poisonous gas that cannot be seen, smelled or tasted.

They are not interchangeable. A combination alarm can detect both, but a smoke-only alarm will not warn you about carbon monoxide, and a CO-only alarm will not detect smoke.

The goal is straightforward: install the right alarms, put them in the right places and make sure they work when your household needs them.

July 2026 Calgary Real Estate Statistics Recap

Calgary’s housing market continued its seasonal slowdown in July, with 1,904 sales and 3,323 new listings recorded across the city. Sales declined 9% compared to last year, while new listings were down 15% year-over-year. Despite the slowdown in activity, the sales-to-new-listings ratio held steady at 57%, reflecting a market that remains relatively balanced overall.
